Monika O’Leary BUSH-FELT Tours’ owner Monika O’Leary is a qualified nature guide experienced in organizing outings and trips for wildlife enthusiasts. She is passionate about South Africa and its natural splendour and has a deep concern for environmental issues. She holds a B Sc degree in Geography and Zoology. In 2005 she enrolled in the more practical, hands-on Field Guide’s course ending up top student for the year. This course increased her awareness and interpretation of and the signs and habits of the myriad of inter-relating animals, plants and habitat in the ecosystem. Two years ago she decided to leave the corporate world where she worked as a responsible pharmacist to share her love of nature with others. Monika believes that a visitor’s enjoyment of nature should never be limited to expectation of the dramatic. There is just so much more to notice, perceive, hear, smell, touch and see. South African biodiversity is vast, and the inter-relationships between and within species are extremely fascinating. |

Gigi Formanek, Associate
Gigi Formanek has over 30 year’s international experience in senior positions in the tourism industry and has extensive work and travel experience throughout Southern Africa, North and South America, Europe, and the Indian Ocean Islands. She retired 6 years ago from her position as Director of the French Tourism Board in Southern Africa. Austrian born Gigi spent over 10 years in the South African bush with her geologist husband before moving to Johannesburg. During her frequent visits to nature reserves in South Africa, Namibia, Botswana and Zimbabwe she has developed a keen interest and knowledge in wildlife and environmental affairs. In 2005 Gigi completed the Bushveld Training Adventures full year environmental course and passed with merit. She loves South Africa and is passionate to share its beauty with visitors from all over the world. Gigi is multi-lingual and fluent in English, French, German, and Afrikaans in addition to a fair knowledge of Portuguese and Dutch.
