Borakalalo – meaning “Place where people relax”, is a 14000-hectare, malaria free provincial park, situated 60 km north of Brits. Bird viewing is exceptional with over 350 bird species recorded, including rarities such as the African Finfoot. It is also the home to 35 species of mammals including Giraffe, White Rhino, and a wide variety of Antelope. |
· Pick-up and drop from Rosebank, Sandton or Midrand at 6h00, transport to Borakalalo. · Travel to Puduphudu camp in Borakalalo. · All meals and snacks provided, guests to provide own alcoholic drinks. · Saturday morning walk, sunset game drives, with Interpretative guiding of habitat, terrain and fauna and flora. · Leave Borakalalo at noon Sunday arriving back in Joburg at + 15h00. |

In recent years Wakkerstroom has become a favourite destination for birders. Home to numerous grassland species, including special endemics such as Botha’s and Rudd’s Larks as well as numerous water-birds to be found on the excellent wetlands. Situated 250 km from Joburg, it is a favourite weekend retreat. Local bird guides are happy to share their intimate knowledge with guests, while comfortable B&B and reasonable caterers ensure a comfortable stay. |

Dullstroom is a charming town set in Montane grassland, with extensive wetlands and rocky outcrops. The nearby Verloren Valei Nature Reserve is a birder’s heaven, is one of the few locations in South Africa where all three crane species are to be found. The Reserve has typical Highlands grassland with a network of more than 30 wetlands with a particular high and national important component of endemic and Red data species. Numerous trout fishing dams are in the area for your pleasure. . |

The picturesque Magoebaskloof region is situated at the northern tip of the Drakensburg Mountains in the Limpopo Province, and is often referred to as the 'Land of the Silver Mists'. There is no better place to look for elusive forest birds. The region is characterised by mountain landscapes, whispering grasslands, tranquil pine and mysterious indigenous forests. Bubbling streams wind their way through the forest into dams. Varied habitats are home to over 300 species of birds and a wide range of animals. There are well marked trails through the forest and along the ridges overlooking mountains and valleys. |

Pilanesberg Game Reserve is in the North West Province ,approx 200 km from Joburg. Set in the crater of a long extinct volcano, the Park covers and area of 55 000 hectares (it is in fact the fourth largest park). Over time, wind and water have carved a spectacular landscape with rocky outcrops, open grasslands, wooded valleys and thickets. Pilansberg National Park accommodates virtually every mammal of southern Africa. Also home to the Big Five. |

Nestled in the rolling foothills of the Maluti Mountains among the sandstone cliffs lies Golden Gate National Park. The 11600 hectares of unique montane grassland environment provides a home to a variety go mammals and birds, including the rare Bearded Vulture and Bald Ibis, which nests on ledges in the cliffs. Ribbokkop, the highest point reveals a breathtaking tapestry of colours at sunset. |
